How is it that in the age of Saturn there was no difference between freedom and slavery, the rich and the poor, and then it is said that in the time of Saturnalia, the roles change, slaves are masters, masters are slaves? I wouldn't say, people are the worst kind, there have always been those who are powerful, and oppressed, regardless of the period. Unfortunately, this is still the case today, and I believe in the future as well. The Saturnalia were just a valve where the rulers, for the purpose of their pleasure-living, would allow the conquered to inhale a little fresh energy, in order to further abuse them even more. "Golden age" - maybe, but only for the rulers.

I've grown pretty convinced over the years that rhetoric and speech devices are really just manipulation.. and now I'm pretty confident. We frame manipulation as a bad thing, yet when it's labeled "rhetoric", it's seen as good. I'd love to see some serious discussion over whether manipulation is inherently good or bad.

Lol, e is talking about one week on each card after a nine month period. This is a good system, but at my school, we work with each card in that two week period, until all the majors have been gone through. Then another segment of curriculum goes deeper into the meaning of each card for another two weeks on each major arcana. Then the third segment does the same thing again at an even deeper.level,.learning to use each separate card (or key) and it's corresponding faculty in consciousness in extended ways. Then after this we learn to place them on the paths of the tree of life. There is a shorter segment on the minor arcana, since that has more to do with divination and less.to do with the rousing of subconscious powers, or working with meditations in an initiatory sense. We spend wayyyy more time on each card and it's symbology and in learning what each card does for the consciousness and what ways each card can be used.

  • @FraterIgniUmbra-ci7gv

As far as the etymology behind the word "tarot". My school states that the word itself was a blind, and that the original blind was taro, which is a reassignment of the arrangements of the letters, the original meaning being rota, which in Latin, borrowed from Greek is "wheel", which points to the cyclic nature of how consciousness works and also the cyclic nature of the universe in its creative power. So tarot is a blind. When I refer to tarot now in the initiatory sense, I call it the ROTA.

It is a spiritual realm in Heaven, not a physical one. It is without observation. It is IN YOU. There is no such thing as planets. They are just roaming stars. They roam around the heavens. The fixed stars stay in their constilations, night after night, year after year. All "planets", stars, moon and sun, are lights! They are the heavenly luminaries, which revolve around our flat earth. We do not revolve around them. Hard to take you seriously when you believe we are on a spinning ball moving through galaxies.

00:04 An exploration of rhetoric as a toolkit for effective communication 03:54 Understanding the components of rhetoric is crucial for effective persuasion. 11:07 Rhetoric can be used to manipulate and deceive 14:51 Rhetorical devices like climax and antithesis aim to influence values and perceptions. 21:23 Repetition emphasizes contrasts for a powerful message 24:38 Alliteration and paranomasia are ancient rhetorical devices with significant impact on modern language and advertising. 30:49 Rhetorical devices like figura etymologica, polyptoton, and zeugma manipulate language for effective persuasion. 33:48 Rhetorical devices like zeugmas, syllepses, anadiplosis, and synonymia demonstrate the power of brevity, emotion, and intellectual clarity in effective persuasion. 40:10 Cicero's use of praeteritio was a clever way to insinuate allegations without seeming to focus on them. 43:14 Effective persuasion techniques involve using antonomasia and hyperbole 50:09 Understanding grammar, logic, and rhetoric empowers critical engagement with information.

I'm nkt sure if pathos is meant to be seen that way. I would also like to point at the author of logos pathos ethos.... But back to the matter pathos is about the speakers heart, because pathos means passion too and passion is the suffering for something... Meaning the purpose of ones the speakers existence... Pathos is the heart kf the soeaker and not the one of the aufience... The speaker must soeak from the heart... Otherwise we are speaking about manipulation, and not about as a speaker with passion... Persuasion is achieved if logis pathos ethis are aligned.. Meaning you could only truly persuade if you speak from your heart, from own passion... You could act about your suffering, but you will never be able to genuinely defend, argue and verify you passion... If its not your passion, your hinest suffering... If one could argue against your passion, pathos... Well the trifacta will not work, that's why aristoteles meant pathos.. (also in Italian patire=suffering.. Latin evolved into vulgar and then italian)... You can speak about how much you need water to survive... But if your need doesn't come from your heart, some will be able to defeat your syntax... Meaning if you are not truly starving from water deprivation you will possibly fail, because you will not be able to impersonate a starving person... Like the women that lift cars to save their children... If it's not about the heart, that shit don't work... So be careful with the words you spread... Because this is pointing at deception and manipulation rather then persuasion.... Manipulation means a win for personal advantage.. Leadership is about the group, the collective and a speaker with a pure heart that passionately cares would actually speak with true passion for his/her fellas... Misinformation spreads faster then ever... With fiber optic internet, it spreads at the speed of light
